Site layout changes...

I spent the day embroidering a lid for my new belt purse and it's almost done. Photos will be posted soon along with the Manly Pursemaking Demo. (Don't worry, you won't have to embroider anything if you don't want to. I'll show you how to get around it!)

Blog Template Updates
So... the site template is all new.
What do you think?

Is it better? Is it worse? Be honest! Use the comments below because I've never had much luck with Blogger's "Poll" widget.

  1. I was just thinking to myself, I like the blog template update... but, then I clicked on the link to this entry and I see its weakness... those title graphics certainly limit the length of your prose.

The template is a bit busy, but I like the overall feel of it. My favorite bits as the graphics on the left (no surprise there), your new header photo, and the old paper background.

Unfortunately, blog templates tend to be quite narrow (I'm lucky to have a wide screen), so the layout looks a bit squished in.

So, my answer is... thumbs up, with a bit of an itch.

  2. I like dates when reading a blog. I think you made a post while I was reading earlier posts, so when I came back to the front page, I was slightly confused and couldn't immediately figure out why my back button sent me somewhere I haven't been. If there had been a date stamp, all would have been clear.

User error aside, I do notice some background tiling inconsistencies, but that just might be FF 3.5.1. I second the observation that the page appears busy on a widescreen monitor, but it appears to be an issue with the layout, not the rendering engine as the issue exists in IE as well.

I haven't noticed lots of comment from other garb guys on your blog over the years, I figured it was about time I dropped a note letting you know your work is appreciated. I think I suffer from the male tendency to avoid sticking my nose in when someone looks like they know what they are doing.

    Keep your pen wet...
